My name is Christine Götten.

My main job is teaching mathematics and physics at a high school in the beautiful Siegerland.

For many years, however, painting has also played a major role in my life. Painting provides me with an important balance to my sometimes very challenging professional life, because here, free from rules and norms, my feelings and my own sense of aesthetics can unfold freely. 

Since I prefer large picture formats for some time and also do not want to be bound to conventional formats, it is now part of the artistic process for me to assemble and stretch my own stretcher frames.  I attach great importance to the use of high-quality materials, so that the resulting works lose nothing of their color intensity even after many years. 

Since I am always discovering and trying out new techniques, my style is of course continuously evolving. In general, however, I always like to work with structural pastes, with strong colors and iridescent elements, so that my pictures often reveal new impressions in different lighting conditions.
